Michael J. DePalma, MD

Dr. DePalma is President and Medical Director of Virginia iSpine Physicians where he practices Interventional Spine Care. Dr. DePalma earned his bachelors of science degree in neuroscience with magna cum laude and certificate in foundations of medicine from the Honors College of the University of Pittsburgh in 1995. After earning his medical degree cum laude from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1999, Dr. DePalma completed his residency in the highly regarded department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He was appointed as Academic Chief Resident during his senior year of residency training during which he played a vital role in recruiting internationally recognized spine experts as guest speakers. Dr. DePalma completed his specialized Interventional Spine Care training during a fellowship year at the internationally renowned Penn Spine Center of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2004.

Sophia S. Yae, DO

Dr. Yae obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Columbia University before pursuing her passion for osteopathic medicine. In 2019, Dr. Yae graduated from Touro University in California with a Master of Science in Medical Health Sciences. She completed a preliminary surgery year at UCSF East Bay in Oakland CA, and physical medicine rehabilitation residency training at Good Samaritan University Hospital/Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre, NY. Additionally, she expanded her expertise by completing a course in medical acupuncture and is certified to practice in the state of New York. She strives to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care by continuing her training with a fellowship from Virginia iSpine Physicians. Beyond her professional pursuits, she enjoys spending time outdoors, trivia nights, and painting when she is not running after her two-year-old son. Dr. Yae aspires to make a positive impact on the lives of her patients while nurturing her dream of owning a corgi in the future.

Sushruth R. Moku, DO

Dr. Moku obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Neuroscience from Binghamton University in 2014. He then pursued his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2015. Following the successful completion of medical school, he went on to complete his Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Beaumont Health-Taylor in Michigan. Dr. Moku’s dedication to patient care led him to pursue fellowship training at Virginia iSpine Physicians, where his primary objective is to develop a diverse procedural skill set. He plans to integrate this advanced training with his residency experience to provide a holistic and comprehensive approach to enhancing the quality of life for his patients. Beyond his professional commitments, Dr. Moku enjoys a range of hobbies, including weightlifting, yoga, watching movies, playing table tennis, and nurturing his aspiration to become a pilot.
